Le Patrouille des Glaciers is a military ski alpine course organized by the Swiss Army. Participants compete in teams of 3, either taking the long route over the mountains from Zermatt to Verbier, or the slightly shorter but no less challenging route from Arolla to Verbier.

Andy, the owner of Chalet Spa and his team Red Ice had a 4am start from Arolla and kept a good pace from the start over the first two steep mountains. Despite carrying all the obligatory kit of warm coats and spare cold weather gloves, the sun came up and the temperatures were unseasonably high as they made their way closer to the finish line in Verbier.

It was a great moment to see Team Red Ice ski down the last mountain to Medran and run to cross the finish in just under 7 hours. Bravo!
